Wow buddy you and I are very similar. I've at an airbrush forever too and just got myself a compressor finally just last week. I will be posting pics soonish (as soon as I can find the battery charger for my Camera) of my initials trial models using my Airbrush.
If you haven't found the tip yet, try using windex as a thinner, works great (much much better then water). Check out The Painting Corps blog and click on the Airbrush link for more good tips. I've also been watching Les from awesomepaintjob.com and WGConsortium's youtube vids about airbrushing too. WGC has some great beginner vids up that I have learned a lot from.
Looking forward to seeing where your airbrush takes you.

I'm in the same boat. I just started getting the hang of my airbrush as well. I'm going airbrush crazy.
I've been airbrushing game tables, terrain, Dark Eldar Vehicles, everything really. Heh
@huron
My buddy Sgt Brisbane told me the windex trick.
What I really wanna do is get some paintable primer and try it in the airbrush. Somehow try and replace the 15 cans of primer.
I echo the guys to follow that HuronBH had mentioned.
Check out the valejo primer, you can get it in large bottles and run it through your airbrush. Les from awesomepaintjob uses it for his models.
