Great stuff matt, I can most certainly say the black drop looks a whole lot better then a red one. just make sure you put highlight/ lighting on the drop because it looks to flat in comparison to the skull.

This sort of reminds me of the Metallica skull-and-bones art of the 90's. Maybe it's the fanged skull in the sketch-work? Either way, great looking stuff.

Btw, a little highlighting on the black drop (great color choice) would really bring it to life.

The skull freehand is nice, a purple or pinky purple drop could work, don't really want to suggest green as it has been done to death on BA and I actually dislike it.
