Tyranids

I dont know what to say because I really like tyranids, love the models, their place in 40K, and the possibility of owning them again. OK,OK OK!!!!!!!!!!!! Damn it!!!!!!!!!!!!!But, I havent even got my army finished, and with every codex release my army is more and more irrelevant. How can I say that? Because following the recent trend on codex releases, Nids are going to be the end of the world. Of several worlds in fact, maybe the whole damn 40K universe. J/K that may be a over reaction, but I know something. I am a doom sayer, both through privied knowledge and smart deduction. Damn,!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know that I have said, and will continue to say that each new codex that comes out is not as bad as the normal doom sayers make it out to be. I am not reversing what I say, but this is going to suck for me because I have a completion date of around April 2010. My once "competitive army" is now crap and just a road bump!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Tyranids will be destroyed again by the Ultramarines. Between the Tyrannic War Veterans, Vanguard, Sternguard, Ironclads, and the upgraded scout shotguns? They'll be afraid to charge at our guns.

I'm so looking forward to the updated Tyranids. Can't wait to see their rumored answer to Mech.

OH NOES! TEH SKY IS FALLIN'!!!lol, get real Matt. No Codex will ever truly overshadow the powers of chaos! You should relax, ignore the early "buzzings" of the new Nid Codex. They are just a new swarm of moths moving ever closer to the warp fires. Make no mistake, they will burn. Such is the fate of all who would dare stand before the might of the chaos...

I am excited but that is mainly since I have an mainly unbuilt nid army in my basement which I have had more than a year and now I can just say I was just holding off to determine how to build them for the new codex.

I am glad the bugs are getting an update as I am tired of seeing shooty bug lists and would like them to get bak to their CC roots.
Really though, Matt, don't give up on Chaos, I still win more than I draw and almost never lose with my Chaos. The only thing I lament is the lack of viable list option for our army ... Something Gav Thorpe clearly doesn't think is a problem.

Hey Matt,
been following your blog with great interest. I really like your Rhinos and Marine-Conversions.
Dont get disappointed. Its true, Chaos Space Marines dont have much choices to be competitive, but those choices are pretty good.
Lash, Plague Marines, Khorne Berserkers and Oblits work pretty good together. Did you ever try to combine one Land Raider and 6-9 Oblits in one List?
You gonna shoot the crap out of everybody.

Rock on ;)

Obviously, I am very excited about the new Tyranid codex. I am very excited that it is written by the same guy that wrote the Imperial Guard Codex.

In my most humble of opinions, the IG Codex is one of the most well written and balanced codexes to come out in a long, long time. With only a very few exceptions, I really like almost everything in the guard codex and I find it to be well balanced....not that I will be collecting and IG army anytime in the forseeable future.

One thing you need to remember Matt, you have you extremely well painted army going for you...most of us can not compete with you army on that level.

Secondly, you have been playing your army along time. I am a firm believer that someone who sticks with an army and learns all of its ends and outs will always trump someone who is playing the newest and latest "internet flavor-of-the-month list."

The new tyranid codex will be doom and gloom for all about a month and then people will adjust their play according to the new material. I personally think it would be awesome if you picked up tyranid just because it would be neat to see your army painted and modeled as well as you do.

I wouldn't give up on your chaos though. Lash may lose a little power do to new powers, but chaos still has five incredible scoring units, combined with heavy hitters and cheap mech transportation. Those three things in Fifth Ed. definitly give chaos a firm competitive edge over other armies just because you don't have to work at completing your 3 primary goals in the game. 1)Scoring objectives 2)Killing threats and 3)Mobility. Your army is still competitive. You may have to change a small thing or two to compensate for the "lastest cheese" but you army is fine.

Matt no army you ever make will be fine or competitive when you play it against me.

Its just how God made me, and im not sorry for it.

I will

MELT. YOUR. FACE.
