Space Wussies, I mean Space Wolves

I just ran over across the river to take a look at the new codex and see if there was going to be a way for me to bring my Imperial Fist army out of the closet. After reading that codex, I dont know what everyone is scared about, I cant wait to get those close combat monsters on the table. I am going to kick the crap out of that army. You heard it here first, these space wolves are just the flavor of the month. Bring it, Bitches!, (dogs in heat over a new codex.) Im not trying to be a hater, but what is everyone so scared of?

Well, that is the spirit! LOL!

As a player of the Hive Mind, I would be lying if I did not say that I am a bit apprehensive about Jaws of the World Wolf. Even with "Shadows in the Warp" and a 50/50 save for my initiative 2 Heavy Carnifexes, there is still the chance this power will eliminate 129 points in the blink of an eye!

That being said, at least according to the interpretations from the store owners around here, I will only be facing one Rune Priest with the power.

"no two characters may bear the same saga, nor may they bear the same psychic powers"

Out here the wording the same psychic powers means that no character can have the same psychic power!

So, at least there is that!!

Well I played against the new codex 2 days ago. I wasn't scared going in and I am still not scared, but I can tell you that they are crazy once they get into an assault. I think once the Wolf players get to making lists and playing they will be a pretty competitive army.

I posted a bat rep of my game on my blog. http://extremisdiabolus.blogspot.com/ if you are interested.

I expect the wolves to be nasty, but not broken. Ok, they're fine in assault. They'll hurt you bad, in fact.

Ok. Neat. Now, if I just KILL THEM before they get to assault, what do I worry about? Albeit, some of that stuff might be trouble before it gets there, but...we'll see.

Not quite, a lot of people are misunderstanding. You can't have the same combination, not the same items. Since you get 2 powers, thy can have Jaws+ Living Lightning, and Jaws+ Hurricane, etc. They can potentially run 4 Jaws in the army.

HAHA! I like it. For Tau, it's not really a big deal either. So long as they don't bring Jaws...that would really screw up my battlesuits.

VS. Chaos, Space Wolves will not have it so easy. Luckily your codex is of the same generation as the other greats, like Orks, IG, Vanilla SM. I would love to see the infamous Black Matt take on some Space Pups. We demand a video!

Shatter Hands,
Its a deal, where do you live? If that can be public info of course. And yes I know you gave me your address but I forgot where it was;)

@King Elessar

I know how I read it...

...but the two local hobby shops are both saying that the same psychic powers means that not a single power can overlap....

...I love vague language....

I'll deal with them the way I deal with everyone else. Unstoppable amounts of firepower.

Matt i Challenge You My Wolves(When i get them) vs your chaos ill show you the wolves are coming and there gonna kill all

As a Wolf and Chaos marine player, I think that the Wolves are gonna wreak havoc on Chaos psychic powers. Especially if they take multiple Rune Priests.

I'm just glad my DP doesn't need warp time to be effective.

@ Andrew. Your on! Next time we meet it will be on the battle field

@ big Jim. Yeah you are right. I'm not sure how it will work out but someone I was playing was playtesting how effective it all would be after each of my psychic tests and since he was rolling well, he shut me down. We will see. I'm not even sure what the exact rules wording says. Is there a limit to range, or a limit on whose targeted?

Matt, it affects any power successfully cast within 24 inches of the Rune Priest.

Matt looks like ill be making a force of Wolves for Adeption this year int he TT. So if my plans come through and I can fly out your way between now and then, you got a game on as well.

As for Vague language, as soon as I get a Codex ill give you my thoughts. For the INAT FAQ we will be looking at Space Pups about a Month after the Dex is out to give it time to have any language and gameplay questions exposed and then brought for discussion.

If anyone here has anything to bring up, post it and we will take a look at it.

I dont see anything too scary now, but in a month when someone breaks the dex, *shrugs* we will see....

I am pretty sure Shatter Hands is from Baltimore. Or MD somewhere. Personally I think the Wolves are going to be crazy, though only if the wolf player is smart. Lots of Cheap marines in big squads is going to hard to beat.
