I love what you are tying to do with the board. I watched the second part of the vid on youtube. What if you gloss the lava so that is is shiny?

Anyway love your work keep it up.

After trying lava a couple times on battle mats and various terrain pieces, I found that the biggest detractor was solid colours. When you look at Lava, you get that overwhelming red/yellow, but it's always blotchy, and you have some spots of black etc.

Our next Lava piece we are going to try a yellow base, and then mix some red into the Woodland Scenics Water Effects we have to give it some texture and flow, and then will try and touch up raised edges with some darker reds.

Go to home depo and grab a can of expanding foam insulation. I use it on my lava terrain. Just spray it in and it is instant lava texture. Play around with it a bit and you can get different textures. let it half dry and tamp it down or tamp it down while its wet both give slightly different efffects. Make sure you wear disposable gloves when you work with it, it is extremly sticky and resistant to water.

heres some examples

Oooh, those look awesome Death oF Angels, consider that stolen.

As a side note Matt, I notice alot of the Battle for Salvation tables are the 3 modular sheets. Do you guys end up transporting these tabletops alot? or is it for better storage?
