The rise of Nagamo

I got an email the other day from a great guy in Germany who wanted me to take a look at a couple of pics from his army. I told him right away that I wanted to put these pics up for all to see. ANNOUNCING............ Nagamo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good work Nagamo and I hope we get a follow up when they are painted!

Wow, pretty cool, he has a good eye for bitz and a good imagination of cool ways to put them together.

My only question, and I know you do this too Matt, what is up with the shields on 40K Chaos Guys? I get that they are cool looking (As I started a Chaos Warriors Army again recently because of how cool the knights were) and could see adding them to vehicles but do not understand putting them on guys. Chaos can not use storm shields or combat shields and that would be about the only reason I could see adding them in myself.

I guess it is just a personal choice and it is cool that you made it, not sure I would though. Again great job.

First of all, thank you for posting my pics, Matt!
I just started collecting CSM and will give them all an archaic touch. The shields are used to symbolise the T5 and Feel no pain of the Plague Marines, because I did not like the standard GW-models. The other aspect why I use shields and the like is the psychological aspect. In game I percept big shield on my PM, big bloodletter swords on my Khorne Berserkers and the like and this reminds my of the function they have in my list. On the other side, my opponent sees big figures on the table (PM) and a subconscios voice tells him: watch out, these suckers are dangerous, go and fire all you have! This is exactly what I want him to do, ´cause the PM will absorb a lot of small arm fire ´til they go down...

Yeah, the only reason I did it, is because of how the figs turned out, and I wanted to do an army that would stand out at the GT.

I actually came close to doing the same thing but ended up using FW deathguard conversion kits as plague marines. But I did end up using those spike

fists things from fantasy as power fists

*looks much better and makes more sense for diseased blades then a perfectly clean and well working pfist*
