Well, not a lot to say. I posting my new apothecary now, unfinished, because I dont know when I am going to really be able to work on him again. Ive let my grad school work slip a little and Ive got to tighten up the reigns so the paint station is getting put away for a while.

I didnt go to the main Battle for Salvation GT for the same reason I didnt go to NOVA. Am I the only person who doesnt want to play a marathon of 40K. I mean holy crap! I heard a horror story while I was playing in the doubles tournament on Friday. It was a horror story to me because after the 3 games I played on Friday, my back hurt like hell. @ NOVA - 5 games on Friday, 4 on Saturday and 4 on Sunday! 13 games in three days? AHHHHH F you if you think Im doing that.

I dont have school next week so I was able to pull a lazy this weekend and sit around doing who cares what! Rent SPACE MARINE from the RedBox for $2 dollars and beat it, check! 99% complete my Belial model, check!

A note on the cape: I really regret not repairing the tattered edges and holes with green stuff. I got lazy, and somehow rationalized the war torn look. REGRET IT!!! I spent a lot of time trying to decide what designs I was going to do. Hence the red X on the inside. Lame? Maybe but good enough for something barely visible. What I really like is the "art nouveau" design on the back of the cape. I am absolutely in love with that stuff. The second picture was a finished picture until I got to thinking that those wings really represented lizard or daemon wings and not the angels of death that this army is being modeled behind. I wanted that to be a re-occuring symbol but I realized with the feathered wings everywhere else, that it wouldnt look coherent. SO... I painted over it and added some color. The two sea gull heads are supposed to be the aquilla eagle heads with one blind eye. Whats the official story behind that anyway?

On a side note, does anyone know anything about the last Soul Drinkers book. What the hell is taking Ben COunter so long? I want to know what heappens to Sarepedon!!!!!!!

Man I had a Great day. It was a nice cool fall-ish rain outside today and I was home alone all day today. I got several things done, including this little beastie. He is my standard bearer for my "Angels of Death," army. I ate almost a whole pan of brownies with white confetti icing. I had filet mignon for dinner. I spent time with my wife and son. I chatted with some buddies during the day. F**k, it was a great day!!!!!

Ok well I didnt win or even go but I needed a flashy head line to get you to come over and look at my 95% completed Belial for my Deathwing army. After some time off, it seems that Stella got her grove back. By Stella, I mean me!
For the longest time I couldnt stand the smell of 40K, fig painting or blogger.com! With that time off, 40K has again become what I want it to be. A hobby that I enjoy in my spare recreatioonal time. I still have the intention of selling all my extra stuff but Im not getting out of 40K, not entirely at least. If I want to play, I will play.
So what do you guys think about Belial here? It felt pretty good, sitting down and actually enjoying my art instead of my obligation!!!! See you next time, even if I dont know when that'll be!

Sorry I haven't posted in a while but............

Ok now that we got rid of Ron, I want to talk about my crappy choice for a tournament that I will be playing this Saturday up in connecticut. There will be some top players up there so you can bet that I'm going to be bringing the pain, right?

Wrong. I have hardly been playing any table top games these past few months. And the few tournaments or games that I have played in, I got my a$$ handed to me. In order for the average player to be effective or competitive, they have to be practiced against all manner of opponents. Currently I am not. I've played against grey knights once, and I still don't know my Deathwing well enough to contend for the top. The only list I know in and out, is one based on lash. So that's what I will do. I'm not delirious, so I don't think I will contend for the top so I am going to play what I want. I've always wanted to do a horde/ foot beserker khorne army. I was originally thinking that I would max out on csm with a khorne icon but I am going to run this. WHAT'S MORE FLUFFY THAN KHORNE AND SLAANESH SIDE BY SIDE!

Well, I ordered the Land Raider accesory sprue from Chapter house Studios that I said I would. In fact, I ordered three. I had a small problem with one set of the doors. One of the pieces was broken and absent from the package. If it was just broken, I woudl have simply glued it back together and that woudl have been that. I contacted Chapter house studios to request a new piece, and as any business should, they protected themselves against fraud by requesting I send a picture of the broken piece.

Picture sent with a reply stating he would send out a replacement shortly. And the real reason I am writing this up is because he sent me a whole new kit and didnt request that the old one be returned. What do you guys think of this? Wyrd miniatures, the guys who produce Malifaux, are releasing some really cool minis for their GEN CON appereance. Evidently, going big at Gencon is kind of their thing. All of these gen con minis will be for sale on their website during gencon only, I think!

The first two pics are for a character or crew member choice calleed Teddy. There is an alternate head, as pictured, and a couple of alternate left arms. I am glad about this as I dont really like the kid. The last picture is a gang of undead hunters who have apparently met their match. Not sure about the rules or anything other than their awesomness!!!!!!!!!!

Hey fellas, I hope that things are managable out there for everyone. I finally completed the Death co. Dreadnought for the Heroes of Armaggedon charity project. I am really glad that I spoke up to Jawaballs after initially taking on a much larger portion of the blood angel army. I had to back out of a significant portion because there was a very real threat of me losing my job. I let a restricted state license, that is contingent to my position, expire. I then did the "right," thing and told the administration about it. Needless to say, that wasnt the right thing to do. The reason that was relevant to my backing out was because I had an Imperial Guard commission lined up and I had to think about the money. Well, either way, I didnt get fired but I had already backed out and that was that.

I havent done any painting except the work on this Dreadnought. The next few steps is when it will start to come together. Its due soon but a lot of the work is actually done on it, all except for the weapons that I so raved about. Not sure if Ill end up doing the ball and chains as this model will just blend into the back ground with so many big wigs on the case.
Well, if anyone has noticed, I have most definetly been in a self described "painting funk." Ive backed out of a small commission recently and after I finish all of my commitments, I will be setting down the paint brush for a while. Ive fallen into a social circle that has nothing to do with minis and I would like to explore it for a while. Dont worry, the occasional game or eye candy will show up every now and again.

Deathwing Chaplain and battle report

First thing on the menu is this Chaplain that I updated to be included in my new Deathwing. He used to belong to the Imperial Fists but became a free agent and was snatched up last minute. He used to specialize in a pair of Lightning claws but has since traded in for a combi-melta and his crozius.

The next thing is that I would like your guys opinion on color choices for the storm shields in the army. The two below are part of Belial's chosen command squad, the troop squad he always accompanies. The guy on the left is the original choice and the fella on the right is the proposed change. With the black shield, I thought that it just faded into the model to much. I just realized the guy on the right isnt finished as I meant to paint the inner ring black. Basically a switch-a-roo. Well anyway, which do you prefer?

And for desert, the battle report I promised the other day.

I need to say something because I havent published a couple of the last battle reports where I was beaten. The battle reports are kind of filler material for me and the take the most effort to put together so sometimes I dont get around to it and they fade into the background as time moves on. One in particular is against my arch-enemy, Ryan SInnot. This "ray of sunshine," has knocked me out of about three tournaments. I will have my revenge!

The chainfists have paid off a few times but I may start play testing a lot more lightning claws. I ran nothing but terminators this game.

Deathwing WIP

I have been working on my Deathwing army for the past week and this is what I have to show for my efforts. The shoulder pads and the chest shields will be painted a bone color while the crux terminatis will be in white! Squad markings will be on the right shoulder pad in different colors to differentiate the squads. I cant take credit for the banner, as that belongs to either The Unnamed or Sgt Brisbane.

This army will be for sale so if anyone is interested, let me know. Gotta keep the paint brush moving.

I got about 45 Jawabases in the trade and something seems to be wrong with them. The paint wont dry on the beveled side of the base. Dan from www.teninchtemplate.com wrote an article about resin not curing correctly and I wonder if this is the case. Sorry Im to lazy for a direct link, your a big boy, go find it yourself.

Death co Dread WIP for Heroes of Armaggedon prt 3

If you notice, I cut up a Librarian Dread's close combat weapon and converted it so that it now fits on the right arm. Nothing amazing but it will give the dread some individuality. Ive looked and cannot find a specific 3rd edition picture of a dread with a ball and chain. That picture was the inspiration for this piece. I will be doing two ball and chain Dreadnought close combat weapons. When I first scetched out the idea, I thought that I was going to have to sculpt a lot of the chains that will be required. I believe that I have things under control by using the chains from the chaos vehicle sprues. I had to start looking because I was having problems with sculpting a free standing chain. I have no problems when sculpting a chain that is lying on something, but having to do both sides, or a 360 degree view is beyond my meager skills.

I got to play against Danny, of Internets fame, last night. We play often, and a couple times a year one of us has a new list or army we break out against the norm. Last night we both had a new army/list and @ 2000 pts I thought I had him. Not sure if he has posted his list but its grey knight acolyte rifleman dreadnought spam. 14 tanks. Thing is, I thought I had his ass.

I have considered several changes to the list and I would like to know what you think. My proposals are 1 less godhammer, in return for another th/ss squad and a second melta on the bikers. Ok let the match up set in.
I had him in a long distance firefight. 6 twin linked las cannons attached to armour 14 4 Cml attached to 5 fearless th/ss termies. I had him except..........terrain choked our board last night. He closed the distance and started bringing melta to bear. That wasn't even what won him the game. If he is close enough for melta, I'm close enough for thunder hammers and I even like that match up. Two things kept me from a successful ass kicking counter charge after backing up early in the game. Danny played the grey knight character that allows henchman as troops or unlimited number or something crazy. Coteaz, I believe his name was, had a psychic power that proved be one of two winning factors for Danny. The power makes an opponent count all assault charges as if in both difficult and dangerous. This killed a few termies, but what contributed to the win was that I missed more than 2-3 key charges due to being in difficult terrain. I then got blasted because my feet were stuck in the mud. That power is powerful if playing an assault oriented army. It stuck me in the mud hole!
The thing that hands down won Danny the game was his death-cult assassin squad! Holy Crap! Are you obsesive types talking about how devastating these bitches are? One squad tore through 3 and if I didn't yield the game, my fourth th/ss squad. No bull, for 15 pts, they are a steal for their stat line. Wow. I saw a gleam in danny's eye when they were sticking it to me. I expect more of them in the future.

When I knew I was feeling the battle for salvation tournament on may 21st, I sought out different types of opponents. Orks, tyranids, and now a gun line mech list. I only have a few games with this army but at least they gave me the most experience possible. I might get 1 more game in before the tournament this Saturday. My good buddy Sgt. Brisbane and I will be taking skulls at the tournament so stop by and say hello.

I have decided to do a very simple color scheme with my new "Secret," Second Founding Unforgiven Army. Secret because there is no written record of this noble chapter. Thanks to THE EPISTOLARY who pointed me in the right direction, link, showing me some background fluff on the Unforgiven! In the end, I decided to do what I want when choosing the colors. It is going to be a good looking army, converted, with a borrwed color scheme and borrowed chapter iconography. Dark Angel iconography and Disciples of Caliban color scheme. While I'm not sticking to their color scheme to the letter, it will be dark green, black, bone and ? Hmmmm, Im having trouble picking out a stand out color or an accent. Im leaning towards blue. Check the colors out on my Brimstone Belial . Can anybody help with some suggestions on color schemes.

Just another couple of teasers of the Death co. Dreadnought that Im doing for Jawaballs. "Is that a librarian close combat arm on a Death co. Dread?" I guess that it is, I wonder what Im gonna do with that? Note that the right arm isnt shown! Gasp!
On a sad note, I have had to back out of a big portion of the Charity build. Originally, I was going to paint almost all of the Death co. Ive had to pass on everything but the Dread because of personal reasons. Anyway, I bought everything and now I would like to try and get ride of the Stormraven that I have. I have started cutting things off the sprue but that is it. The pieces are in perfect condition. I am looking for a brand new unbuilt land raider for a even trade. If anyone out there has an unbuilt land raider, write me an email and I will gladly send it on its way. If you would like, I will make a video so you can see that the pieces are in perfect shape.

All Hail BELIAL, King of the Deathwing

Ive gotten to do something that I havent done in quite a while and its a damn shame. I sat down and modeled up a fig for myself. This will be my Belial Hq model that will go with my new Deathwing. I have been going back and forth with what color or how I should paint this Deathwing. A do it yourself successor chapter, a fallen angels army led by Luther, or straight Deathwing, these where all given consideration. What I want to do is paint them the Dark Angels green, but I dont know of any loop holes in the fluff where that would be Kosher. Im not going to paint them like the Fallen because I dont want another Black Army. Even though its what I am going to do, I dont want to really paint them the bone color either. Im doing it because I have all these Dark ANgel bits and I suppose Deathwing will sell quicker when I sell them.

I played a 2000 point game today and got my nuts kicked in by orks. Tactically speaking, I think this army has a lot of potential, but I will get crushed by orks, tyranids, or other horde armies until I learn how to play it better. Also the dice! When playing an elite army, if your dice arent rolling right, its over. Where as a horde or mech list can be a little more forgiving.

This is the sarcophogus cover for the Death co. Dreadnought that I am currently working on for the Heroes of Armaggedon charity drive. I have more completed but Im gonna stretch this out a little. The only reason that I switched the skull for a helmeted head is because I just didnt want it to look like every other Death co dread out there. I carved out the middle in order to give myself some freehand room! I was originally thinking the 3rd company banner but have had some doubtfull thoughts about that lately. We will see what happnes.

1st Malifaux Battle report

On the modeling end of Malifaux, I havent really had time for much for except for assembling all 5 of my crews in anticipation of everyone showing at the demo. Only 3 out of five made it with only Fritz and myself getting to play. The picture of the cowboy in the Matrix pose is the only real conversion I have had an opportunity to do in my limited experience in Malifaux. Malifaux is character driven so each crew boss has a unique fig. In all honesty, I have not found a real reason to try and convert their figs. They are fine without my touch. Except for this Death Marshall here, he needed to be jumping off something high. The middle fig is Mortimer without his shovel. I cnat remember if I showed him last time or not!??

Im curretly just finishing up some Angels Encarmine for Mags. Ive got the Death co troop Drop pod to finish this weekend and then its on to assembling some Malifaux crews. Im really excited about this because I have arranged for someone to run through and teach us some games of Malifaux down in Manhattan. Fritz, Ultrabob, Sgt Brisbane, The Unnamed, and myself will all be going to learn the rules and enjoy the day. Ive got to get all the crews built so we can play! Woo Hoo. We will see if it takes off. No one has been able to introduce a new game to the Battle for Salvation since it began. Aeronautica sputtered along with Fantasy. All to be forgotten when a new 40K codex came out. We will see, even though I dont really play there anymore.

I purposefully postponed this blog post about my inclusion in the Heroes of Armageddon charity project for a couple of reasons. The first one is because its spring and Im a professional gardener whose staff has been cut in half. I have been busy in da garden. Secondly, I wanted to wait until the project splashed across the blogosphere and the big guys blew their load. This way I extend the exposure a little instead of blending into the back ground. I am part of the Blood Angels team that Jawaballs has put together. Jawa, Old Shatta, Mi-cho, John and myself will be painting and assembling a 3000 pt army. Ok Im no stranger to army building/painting but this has me a little daunted. What has me nervous is not really what I have to paint, but how I have to paint it. We have been asked to pull all stops and do absolutely the best possible work that we can do. Every figure should be a golden daemon entry! What did I draw? The death company component of the army. Im quite excited to be painting these guys in black and red as I have already painted the Death company in white before. What has me nervous is that Black is very hard to paint on the level we are discussing. Let alone my teammates who can all paint there asses off. If I dont do a good enough job, Jawa will hit me again. Even though he loves me and would never hurt me on purpose. This will be the next major project that I start, and while its only 12 models, it will take me a long time to finish.

Yes, I am this thrilled to not be painting power armour! I was hanging with my boys from the Sons of Thunder and they were obviously excited and into talking some 40K shop. When they were asking me what codex I thought would come out next, I think I said Malifaux. I cant help it. Im really into these figs, or maybe I am just happy to be doing something different. Let me put it this way, I dont have to pretend anymore that my wife makes me paint lip stick on my figs. No more explaining the fluff about my space marines with ruby red lips stained from their home planet's radiation. When I paint Colette, the showgirl at the bottom, I will paint lip stick free of judgemental eyes;) I can finally be me!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here are a couple of figs that I painted a few weeks ago as sort of a paypack for the Angels Encarmine Death Co. Dread. The last time that I sat down and tried to write some substantial material for my blog, I got roasted alive! It was either because the article was poorly written, I pushed some buttons by stoking some flames, or the idea was a bad one to begin with. The purpose of that article was to present an idea for a new type of tournament. Inadvertently, and much, much more beneficially, it caused a bunch of edrama/attention for my grudge match with stelek and the Battle for Salvation GT in October 2010. This is when I started to define or become aware of my own, "Rules of the Internet."
So here I am, sitting in the McDonalds on 125th and Broadway in Harlem, trying my hand at prose once again. This article that I am writing today has a dual purpose for me. The first one is practice. I'm going back to school for my masters in public administration and I need to be able to write better than I do now. Practice makes perfect, or at least it makes you better.
The primary reason for wasting all this paper is to discuss something that can't be defined well. Hell, the literal wording of the question itself can be twisted so many different ways that a focused discussion probably isn't possible. Like everything else, everyone has their own valid viewpoints and or opinions.

The Rules of the Internet, do they exist, and if so, what are they? From your personal viewpoint, are there predetermined lines that should not be crossed by yourself or anyone else? Does situation dictate the piety of your hateful outrage? And does the number who stand with you, or against, justify how high you build your pyre?
Ok, ok, ok! I phrased those questions in a literal and very un agreeable way;) That was my intent, to demonstrate one way the phrase could be interpreted if taken literally.

HOWEVER, I use the phrase, " The Rules of the Internet," quite often when chatting with fellow Blogger Fritz 40k from www.saimhann.blogspot.com. The phrase has a very loose meaning in our talks and would best be termed as a way to describe why we put what on our blogs, and the actual and desired reaction we try to elicit from the Interwebs. We often hypothesize about different situations and the consequences of posting those different things. We talk about why we blog and what we get out of something that we put so much of our precious time into.

When I first started this blog, what I wanted out of my efforts was to influence the Players Choice vote at the 2009 Baltimore GT. The more people who saw my army ahead of time, the more votes I would likely get at the tournament. It was just publicity. That got canceled and never happened so my reasons had to change. For a while, the attention and interaction with readers was enough until reality smacked me in the head saying, "You've lost tens of thousands in annual income, do something or FAIL!" Black Matt's Black Legion Blog allows me to build and paint armies, something I love, for a small profit.

So where is this tangent going? Well, "The Rules of the Internet," for me, are simple. It's all about numbers one way or another. The more people who visit my blog, the more armies I have commissioned, and that's directly related to how long my wife can stay at home with our beautiful son. Say what I need to say, act an ass with jokes, poke a hornets nest, or paint my heart out. It does not matter what the Internet thinks of me as long as I live truthfully and the commissions keep coming.
I am a potent commission painter who paints 40k armies to a higher standard, for a lower price than anyone out there. You won't find better bang for your buck anywhere! I am working very steadily, so I must be playing by my, rules of the internet.

A big shout out to Ordo Malleus for another excellent vets night. Please excuse the short choppy sentences as I'm doing this from the phone. "Why? What's so urgent that you couldn't wait until you got To a desktop!"

Last night I saw something that I couldn't believe. I mean doesn't this person know that we are in the middle of a moral war and if we give even an inch to our enemies, our souls will be torn asunder in the warp! I saw a space wolf army being played as a space wolves army and it made me sick. I puked all over his well painted models! LOL SGT BRISBANE, you had such promise ;) Of course I'm speaking about the quickly ageing "counts as" argument. Nothing new to say about the same argument that I believe was discussed very well over @ www.tauofwar.blogspot.com

I, however, held up moral virtue by playing a proper counts as army! During my first Deathwing game, I played Tordeck, who will be posting up a battle report soon over on his blog. We will have live coverage of the post when it surfaces! The list I used was a perfect counts as list as everything was wysiwyg, except the color of the models. Sorry fluff lovers :c. BOO HOO! Wait, I am a fluff lover as Ive read A LOT of the paper backs and know a A LOT of the fluff. It brings the game/universe alive for me! So where does that leave me, oh yeah I forgot. My second Deathwing game was a proxy list where I had all thunder hammers with a CML in each of my six squads. I ran a ravrnwing bike squad to get the teleport homes up in the face. I believe this list has a lot of potential! If anyone is interested in a Deathwing thunderhammer army, let me know! I thinks I wants to paint me some 1st company. A Hard list against a hard opponent. Jeff osmundson, who is a frequent tournament player game me a very unique game. He was playing blood angels with storm ravens, death company, death dread and astoroth. A very elite army that I've wanted to play for a long time. Jeff beat me as the storm shields couldn't handle all the power weapon wounds. We both agreed it could have gone either way. Well, you knew this was coming obviously! I have a large painted Imperial Fists 1st company that I am wanting to use with the Dark Angel codex. Ive done this several times in the past before the new FAQ came out so reserve your righteous judgement for someone else who uses their chaos army as Space Wolves;) I will of course include as many thunderhammers as possible and these are what I could wrangle up. I have nine in total, or equivalents. What do you guys think about using the Mace chaos terminator arms as Thunder hammers? Ive trimmed all the evidence of chaos away and if I could choose, I would rather have all maces.

Lets say I sat down four times this past weekend. And lets say that when I first sat down, I really had the artistic intention of a fluff loving gamer at heart.
This is what I did the first time I sat down. I had planned out and begun to execute the finishing of my Black Legion Chaos Army. For anyone who has read my blog on a regular basis, you may recognize my slaanesh rhino and my plans for the free hand on the side. Things were going well until....

I sat down the second time to pay next months bills.!

When that was done and after pacing around the room I sat down a third time to write an email and figure a price for a proposed Black Templar Army. So much for working on my own things. A deal was struck and this is the test model I did so my client would know what to expect.

Another BfS youngblood member, Eddy Miller Jr., walked away with the Best Sportsmans award. I wasnt there but a little birdie told me. Should I or Shouldnt I????

I have a piece that I bought several years ago when my morals were much more set in stone, or so I thought. The title is, "SHould I or SHouldn't I,?" and its a classic depiction of the devil on one shoulder and the angel on the other. Its a beautiful piece and I think about it now because Ive always thought that someone who doesnt return for the second day of a tournament after going 0-3, to have a telling character flaw. To not return because there is no chance at winning the tournament would in fact portray selfish motives. I am in that position now after getting wrecked all day long over at the conflict gt. I still havent made up my mind about what to do because on one hand, I want to support the community,the tournament, play a couple of games and not be a douche. On the other hand, there is no one there that means as much to me as my wife and child. If I go and play two more games of Warhammer 40K, my wife will be sitting home alone for a 12 day stretch. After writing that sentence, I HAVE made up my mind!

Its time to get my priorities straight and an unwinnable tournament and 40K in general are no longer at the top. I know its hypocritical because if I had gone 3-0, I would go and try to win. Im looking at it like this, play two games of 40K, or spend a day with my best friend and infant son!

Ok interwebs, I couldn't help it. I'll explain it in a minute but first things first. I've got a lot of awesome blog material. A couple of battle reports, some good pics of magilla gurilla's angels that I really need to show him, and what I decided to play for the conflict. I'm having connectivity issues with the internet so ill be using my phone for a while. Also, there are still spots available so go and register at www.theconflictgt.com I need a little mercy as I'm typing/texting this up on my phone so its more difficult to write something besides short choppy sentences.

I've done a little practicing with what I was sure was what I was going to play. The thing is, I still have the damn space wolf codex and almost all of the models to make it work. I got an email from the TO asking for my list. So while ill text it up tomorrow and submit, I made a model reflection tonight one last time. One hard fact was staring at me, I have to paint less models in order to be tournament ready with a much stronger wolf list than my old favorite, the Dual Lash Lovin list!"

Ive put myself into a corner here, one that I am going to have to paint my way out:p. This is the last chance that I have to get a golden ticket for Vegas so I would really like to do well in this upcoming tourney. What should I play, giving consideration to what I have, and whats painted or paintable by the tourney. Im not even sure when it is. lol Beginning of January, that much I do know!

So, I have a really nice elder army, but I can't win with that. Mainly because I am so unpracticed with them that I cant even remember what powers a Farseer has! J/k. Joking, but I literally haven't played them in a year.
A little amount of painting required, I think! A good run at best painted, but that's all the army will have a shot at winning in my hands. My Imperial Fists stand ready with their hands firmly grasping their ankles, knees locked, waiting for some Jawalove! With telion giving his squad stealth or cloaks or whatever, I have 12 points freed up. That would go into chain fists on some termies. The least amount of painting required! I would like to do a glowing effect on all of the power fists though.

Not incredibly underpowered and some good advertising along with getting it painted and ready to be sold. Not a bad idea, o-Danny boy! Here we are at the nit and the grit, otherwise known as dual lash lovin. This is what I want to play, but it would require a BUILD AND PAINT.! Let me break it down, Harlem style! Harlem, cause that's were I work and were I'm writing this up! This would require a fair amount of work!

That leaves 138 points. I've considered a chosen squad with rhino and a melta. If I did that, I would have to come up some points from somewhere to beef them up, problem with that is I'm pretty thin on squad upgrades as it is. The other options for the 138pts would be squad upgrades. Possession is awesome with lash, maybe another plasma gun or teleport homer.

Who knows? Literally, what do you guys think? Who knows how to help this noob! And dont be a git and tell me to play a different codex.

Good News and Bad News

I contacted the person with whom I have been discussing my next commission, and let him know that I had to back out of painting his Raven Guard. To be honest, I am so burnt from painting. It feels like, and I have been going non stop since before September! I have been going and going and now I am at the point I need a break. I will still be working on some of my own personal stuff as I still have to figure out something for www.theconflictgt.com Im not sure what I will do, but that is another post. Stick around some of you list builders, I will be needing your help!!

When I get back into it, I would like to finish up and sell the Death Guard that I have standing around rotting.

The Hawk Lords debut/ 4 GDMNW

Im just kidding, thats some mentally handicapped chapter Fritz owns! But these sanguinary guard sure look like a bunch of hawk men right now!

I got a lot of things done this weekend. Feels good to be a little back on track. My mood wasnt in the project the last few weeks and when that happens, its just a second job. Its there now and I am making some real quick progress.

The white sanguinary guard was a test model that I did and I left it so that it could be a real pain in my ass later when I have to come back and finish it! LOL just kidding, I left it white to have some comparision shots near the end! It will be a pain in my ass though!

In other news, I made a verbal commitment for my next commissioned army.

Last month I had made a different verbal commitment to do a PRE Heresy Emperor's Children army for a gentlemen who seems to have back out of the deal. I have mixed feelings about this because on one hand, I was anxious about the sheer amount of work that it would take. On the other hand, I was excited about the project and what it would do for my miniature portfolio.

Tron rocked my world! It was everything that I wanted it to be. The plot could have been, "See dick and jane run," for all I care, because I went for the light and music show. Boy, did it deliver. I paid 16.25 for an Imax ticket plus a 20 parking ticket. I went at 1230am in the morning while my wife and child were sleeping and it was worth every penny. The movie theater is awesome and my seat was literally ratteling from the base in the beginning. I think I am just a little more deaf now! WHAT DID YOU SAY!?

Warmachine/Hordes should I or shouldnt I?

I picked the Warmachine and Hordes old edition rule books up off of eBay last week. I have been playing around with picking up another system for a while now and when I saw these for only a few dollars, I thought I would take a closer look. I know they are not the current set of rules but I was thinking how dramatically different could the rules be from one edition to the next. It was worth the 10 bucks just to have the opportunity to look through the rule books.

I have decided against it for one overbearing factor. Our game store cant even support 40K, let alone trying to push a different system. They charge full price + 8.5% tax and with so many veterans, no one will pay the extra money. I alone have confronted/talked to them, looking like a total ass, about giving some sort of percentage off, but to no avail.
Anyway, the point I am trying to make is that our store doesn't stock it, and has no incentive to do so. Which means that it simply doesn't exist in our gaming circle.

Is it really worth the trouble and money to play a miniatures combat game that is probably only slightly overall different? Especially when considering all the money and time it will take to get an army and find someplace to play? Go ahead, I dare you and try to convince me!

Ive been complaining about the white rhino cause I wasnt sure how I was going to do it. I knew that I wouldnt be able to brush it on the way I do the power armour and I didnt think that drybrushing would work. When I spoke with Mags about it, I told him that I thought it would stand out in the army, not in a positive bright white way, but in a non cohesive different style way. My plans where to spray it white than pick out the recesses. I dry paint rub/ drybrush on all the other tanks to get the color fade. Since I was going to spray it pure white, I thought that I would waste a few minutes trying the rub. It turned out really well even though it took A LOT of coats. The pictures dont do these tanks justice, especially this white one. Ive got some awesome freehand planned for Mags, but that is another story!

Eldar army feature, Angels Encarmine Chaplain!

Well not much to say, except that the Wraithlord is doing the Crane kick from Karate Kid and not the curb stomp from American History X. This Eldar army was at the tournament this past weekend over at TOYWIZ but I didnt get the name of the gent who owned it. Speak up boys if you know the name! We needz to givez shout outz where shout outz iz due!

On a commissioned note, what do you think of the chaplain so far. In case I didnt mention it, I have been working on the 2nd half of Magilla Gurilla's Angels Encarmine. Let me say that white Death company are NOT easy. They are giving me some hell. Anyway, what do you think of his Chaplain so far?

Black Templars crusade/ Rules question

I have a rules question that I need some expert internet know how on, and check out this Black Templar Army thats been cleaning up the Best Painting awards lately!

I dont have any pictures of my game against my second opponent, Mike Duffy. He played tau and in the beginning of the game he rolled poorly, allowing me to get close enough to teleport my termies in. Once that happened, the tactical Dreadnaught armour, terminator armour, couldnt be stopped. Good game and I won in the last assault giving me the kill point I needed!

My third game was against Andrew and his Vulkan list. I dont have any pictures and his army wasnt super melta/flamer spam. I think that I am most proud of the way I played in this game. At toywiz they write special missions. In this game, it was capture and control and if either General was killed, it became an additional objective. This is how I planned to win and it almost happened, almost. I teleported Lysander's squad in and separated him from the squad next movement phase in what seemed to be a beserker charge! We both placed our objectives in opposite corners and camped a sizeable force on top of them. There was no way I was going to get to them. My plan was to kill Lysander right in front of my force and take that as my second game winning objective. Everything worked out except I couldnt kill a damn Land raider which contested it in the end. Good Job Andrew.

Toy Wiz Tournament results and excuses!

Another great tournament over at TOYWIZ in Nanuet, NY. I really enjoy going to and playing in some smaller low key tournaments. Prize support was fantastic for the number of people. It was only a 14 man tourney. Third took home 60, second got 90 and Im guessing that 1st got 120. Chaaa-ching!!! I walked away with nothing but some broken models since I came in 4th overall and almost spilled my whole army right before Game 1. I DREW, WON, and DREW my three games. I feel very positive about the tournament as I feel that I played very well.

I made one rather large mistake. It was an 1750 pt tournament and I played 1850 in the first game. Woah, woah woah! Dont get your panties in a bunch there, hater! I gotz me a defense!When the TO originally posted on our message boards, he posted a 1850pt tournament and never updated or posted again when he changed it to 1750. There is no way I could have known. When I found out I immediately told my first round opponent and the TO. Neither really seemed to give a damn and said pretty much the same thing, "What can we do about it now?"

So with my list being as weak as it is, I have to really use my head and be a better player, or cheat with extra points;), in order to win games. Check out my deployment against my first round Daemon opponent. It was an all Khorne Daemon army with Skarbrand, bloodcrushers, Blood thirster, and bloodletters. Everything had power weapons so I knew I had to play this right from beginning to end.

No Daemons are deployed and it is after I made my scout moves on the LS storms. Note the placement of the storms. As soon as he made his drop, I mounted up and withdrew causing him to walk across the board. Allowing me to handle him a piece at a time. His drop went perfect and even though he was forced to risk teleporting next to the table edge, no one died. Even though it didnt pay off for me, I used every advantage not based on a list to win.

Check out how I used the LS storms in the last part of the game to keep his Bloodcrushers from wiping my army off the board. I would criss cross them in the movement phase so he would need 6's to hit. I worked perfect for two turns until the game ended on Turn 5.
The only other glory to be had in this game was when this scout killed this blood thirster!

Necron Nicely Done/ Toy Wiz Tournament

This is the last army feature that I will do from da boyz. It was a necron army that ended up being played as a ringer on the second day. I guess some people dropped out.

If your gonna be in the Nanuet NY area on Saturday and want a chance to come and beat on Black Matt, then head over to ToyWiz for that chance in a small 1850pt tournament. I always enjoy tournaments put on by Ordo Malleus. I will be playing my Imperial Fists and I will hopefully continue a long time feud with my good buddy Charlie tuna! I'll let you know how things go!

Aboard the Phalanx, the veteran 1st company stands at attention in ceremonial ranks waiting to recieve their guest. Captain Darnath Lysander exhales with impatience as the Ultramarine Thunderhawk prepares to land and expunge it's, "unnecessary cargo."

"Our tenth company is not to be found lacking in any way, and I don't believe this is necessary," said the first captian.

"Old friend, do not look at this as a slight on our honor, but as a chance to restrengthen our bond with our allies, the Ultramarines. You will accept and guide our tenth company by learning from our guest. Do not mistake that as a request, captain," said Vladimir Pugh, Chapter Master of the Imperial Fists.

As the Thunderhawk screams into the loading dock, not a single heartbeat is misplaced as the ship settles unceremoniously and lowers the ramp. Without pause, the cargo of the thunderhawk disembarks and walkd to the awaiting Honor Guard to present himself.

"Sergeant Torias Telion of the Ultramarines 10th company, reporting for duty as decreed by Chapter Master Marneus Calgar," said Telion.

"Welcome aboard the Phalanx, Sargeant. I am Chapter Master Vlad and this is my first Captain, Darnath Lysander. He will be your reinforcements,..........and protectorate, should you need them. The tenth company awaits your inspection and tutelage," said Vlad!

"With all due respect commander, an Ultramarine can take care of himself," states Telion.

Here we are fresh out of the tournament and ready to spill our guts. I dont want to spoil the vid so I wont say anything thats inside but we had a good time regardless of how we felt leaving. I felt horrible on the first day and was in no mood for socializing so I didnt really get to do any networking with some of the other bloggers. I got to meet and speak with the people that I wanted to on the second day so it looks like I may be getting a little help setting up my painting commissions website. I have all sorts of furry blurry pictures of the best painted armies at the event that I will display tomorrow or Wed. I really need a new camera!

The tournament was run extremely well and the terrain was awesome. I also enjoyed the mission variations! I have the rewards ceremony taped but its long and boring so if you want it up, let me know and it will be on its way!
